Can you believe it? In just about an hour’s drive from the Melbourne CBD you find yourself in a landscape of sweeping hills that hug winding country lanes leading to the wine-growing belt of the Mornington Peninsula which nature has liberally endowed. The Peninsula offers a totally different world from cosmopolitan Melbourne and is reached by the many freeways that offer an easy drive. When you leave Frankston, (the last south eastern suburb) you encounter beautiful country roads that hug the coastline. The magic of the Peninsula is its enchanting rural vistas where seaside villages entice you in and the landscape is generously dotted with some of the best vineyards that also beckon you to come and sample its wines and eating places. Take your pick of the many wineries that offer excellent eateries and cellar door tastings and sales. Indulge yourself as you sample the Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays as you tuck into menus inspired by the locals. It is a wonderful experience you will remember for a long time! You may also want to visit the beaches of Port Philip Bay, the hamlets of Mt Eliza and Mt Martha, the township of Dromana with Arthur’s Seat situated on the hill top. STONEIR WINES 2 Thompsons Lane Merricks VIC 3916 (03) 5989 8300 11.30am - Depart Stonier Wines. 12 pm – Arrive at the Beautiful Box Stallion winery for Lunch served with a complimentary glass of wine, and enjoy all that Box Stallion has to offer as you continue with your wine tasting.
